 The Nightstar Bass Flute
The bass flute, that is flutes in a key below middle C, have generally only been accessible to people with a large hand span due to the length of sound chamber required to
produce the low note.
I have now developed an end blown flute which will accommodate a key of G# below middle C.
So it is now possible to have a key range from middle C down to G# on an end blown flute. The G# has an overall length of 760mm (30ins), and the higher keys are progressively smaller. Off set playing holes make the reach more comfortable, and if you can play an F# flute the key of A below middle C should hold no trouble for you.
